What Is

Future Footprints is a partnership of organisations in the South West that support sustainable tourism. Our vision is a thriving sustainable tourism industry that satisfies the aspirations of visitors, businesses and the community without damaging the quality of our region’s special environment.

Future Footprints is working across the South West, helping visitors and residents to:

Try Local, Buy Local
Choose local food and drink and gifts made in the region. The South West is renowned for its excellent local produce and quality products. Buying local produce gives a true taste of the South West, supports the local economy and reduces the distance food and goods are transported. The landscape and environment that draws visitors to our region is directly linked to how the land is used. Where and what you choose to buy during your trip really counts.

Explore what’s on your doorstep
Explore what is within walking distance of where you are staying. You’ll be surprised to find fantastic places just around the corner and events happening right on your doorstep.

Walking and cycling are ‘feel good’ ways to see the coastline, cities and towns and countryside and to explore places you wont find by car! The South West has some of the country’s best walking and cycling for all ages and abilities. Check out local footpaths or ask about local cycle hire facilities. If there is somewhere you want to visit, leave the car behind and try going by bus, ferry or train, it’s a great way to see the region, and kids love it.
